time for paperwhites

November 13, 2014

It's time to plant your paperwhites.  Forcing paperwhites to bloom indoors for Christmas is easy and inexpensive.    I like to figure about 4-5 weeks from planting to blooming, and planting them now will insure blooming, fragrant flowers to enjoy mid December.   I'm hosting a Christmas Tea on the 11th, so I'm hoping I've timed it right.

  1. Kristen - I love them! Some of my friends don't like the scent, but I do. In addition I love forcing amaryllis bulbs. Cheers, Loi

  2. I've never forced paperwhites, but I'd like to try. I'm just so afraid they won't bloom. I'm not the best when it comes to "green thumb" stuff! I know you're a wiz at it, so I have no doubt yours will not only bloom, but bloom in the most grand way in time for your tea! I love the examples you posted, especially that first photo!!!
