Botanical Knits

February 09, 2013

Yesterday there was lots of excitement in the knitting world!  Alana Dakos of Never Not Knitting has just published her second book, Botanical Knits, available now in digital form and book pre-order.  A beautifully illustrated book with gorgeous designs inspired by the central California coast.  I've made several of her patterns before and know they are well-written, easy to follow and unique.  Here are some of my favorites from her new book!

Twigs and Willows knit flat in worsted weight.

Autumn's End in sport weight, knit in the round, bottom up.

Spring Foliage in sport weight.

Wrapped in Leaves in dk weight.

Aren't they gorgeous?
What are you planning to knit?

  3. Kristen, I love the color palette! Your projects that you've made from the previous book were absolutely beautiful!
I don't think that I'll knit from this book. I do need to get back in the routine and work on finishing up some of my own designs.

  4. I haven't really followed Alana's work, except the pieces you've made. But this book looks so beautiful!

What are YOU going to make?

  5. I will probably buy the book! I really like Autumn End too. I agree that Alana Dakos is a great designer! I didn't know the online version was already available but I think I'd like the paper copy if it is as beautiful as Coastal Knits!

  7. Beautiful! I aspire to knit this well some day. For now, I'm working on a beginner baby blanket to donate to Project Linus. If I were more advanced, I think the Autumn's End sweater would be my next project. I like how it's light enough for Texas! Thanks for sharing, Kristen!

  8. It is a beautiful book and I would love to purchase it, but not a good time for me.
However, I wish the patterns were sold separately. I understand that it would involve more work, but anyway I am looking forward to seeing what everyone knits up!
My Favorite one: Twigs and Willows. Gorgeous!
